Make Your Own Mexican Salsa

In a nutshell

Not to be confused with the spirited Latin dance of the same name, this cooking class shows you the steps to making two styles of zingy Mexican salsa. The beloved tomato-and-chili sauce is a basic staple in any Mexican kitchen, and an unbeatable dipping option for pre-dinner nibbles or movie nights in.

Using authentic ingredients like Mexican husk tomatoes, serrano chiles and cilantro, experienced cook Nico will walk you through the process of making salsa via Instagram Live – so make sure you have an account before booking. When you’re done, tip a packet of tortilla chips into a bowl and get scooping, or spoon the thick red sauce into tacos packed full of other fresh ingredients.

Why book?

  • Learn to make your own authentic Mexican salsa – no more shop-bought equivalents!
  • Go the extra mile for your next Mexican-themed dinner party
  • Discover culinary techniques from a seasoned Mexican chef

About the host

Host Nico grew up in Xalapa, Veracruz, and got his first job in a restaurant kitchen at the young age of 14, already set on a career as a cook. He went on to earn a degree in gastronomy from the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City, then worked in a variety of restaurant kitchens, learning the secrets of Italian, Asian, French, and, of course, Mexican cuisine. Nico also enjoys sharing his passion for food as a tour guide for Eat Mexico.
